scooter parts

Well I have been buying "Chinese scooter parts" and testing them prior to reselling them . Seems to be interesting . What I have found to be a big help is my website http://www.nycscooterparts.com/ and my other website http://www.testedscooterparts.com/ . http://www.testedscooterparts.com/ is a great site for reference on all kinds of " Chinese scooter parts CDI's , stators , regulators , ignition coils , Vespa parts and much more ."

Checkout my sites see if there is anything interests you .

  2. Rich the frequency of the waveform would be every changing with changes of RPM wider at lower RPM and narrower at higher RPM . The 6 and 8 coil stators would have different amplitude from each other ad the same RPM . The eleven coil stator all 3 phases would have the same width and amplitude , it would increase with more RPM so would the frequency . to scope a 6 or 8 pole you can do it with a single channel scope , the 11pole you would need to use 3 of a 4 channel scope . GRAB YOUR HEAD RICH STOP IT FROM SPINNING !!!!!! Gee Rich you sparked my brain moving , VFD cooling fan "Variable frequency Drive" it would use less total power , it could run longer at a reduced speed .

  3. Rich , try putting the black wire to switched power . look at the diagram of the 11pole 7pin conversion/hid .

when I did the above with 11pole 7pin I got at idle great voltage 14.5 vdc and it did not increase with RPM increase . (without the black wire connected ) . with the black connected to switched power at idle I get 13.3vdc then it increases when reved up .

MR . Sprocket is your head spinning in the other direction . or is the other side of your head hurting .

  5. So fellow scooterist January will be 2 years I have owned my two chinese scooters .
Well it has been a real roller coaster finding parts learning the quirks . The major frustration and the rewards to go with it . One of the problems with getting parts that differs from the auto world is, the vendors selling parts just don't know what they are selling . The thought about getting tech help to trouble shoot problems . Well i have decided to chip at this problem .
Over the last 2 months I have been building and inventory and very carefully been inspecting and testing every single item . Just today I tested 20 CDI's and 20 coils . I bought larger diameter variators , Keihin carbs, 11pole stators, 7pin regulators, assorted LED's . I know i'm no rocket scientist , however I have a pretty good idea about scooters (thanks to this fourm) and electrical . I don't think there is a vendor out there that is testing and inspecting every item . For the most part no one is checking parts before shipping . How many of you guys and gals have ordered parts and they were defective when delivered .

If any of you guys and gals are interested in the items I have tested and inspected . Please reach out to me for a quote . There are many other items that I do not have that I can get just ask .

  8. the lever is free the set screw rests on the gold button , the gold button is under spring pressure . so the set screw is holding the brake lever out and pushing in the brake switch (white button) . so turning the set screw clock wise toward the gold will hold the lever out more , remember every time you move the set screw you will change the way the brake grabs (keep that in mind) .

  11. Success! Now that I understand the piston versus brake light switch, I was able to adjust the set screw so that the brake light button stays compressed which turns off the brake light (axx backwards in my book) and removes play in the lever. Works perfectly now.
    Thanks, all, for your help.
